Because of the gentle method in which the food is produced, it results in a nutrient dense product which means you will feed up to 30% less food by volume.
It's easy to overfeed when you measure by eye so we always recommend to initially weigh your dog's portion size, or measure it in a Tribal measuring cup.

When introducing your dog to a new food, it’s important to do it gradually. We recommend transitioning slowly, over a period two weeks.

Days 1 - 4:  25% Tribal Fresh Pressed™ combined with 75% of your dog’s previous food
Days 5 - 9:  50% Tribal Fresh Pressed™ combined with 50% of your dog’s previous food
Days 10 - 13:  75% Tribal Fresh Pressed™ combined with 25% of your dog’s previous food
Day 14:  Your dog should now be fully transitioned and you can fully feed Tribal Fresh Pressed™

Heat damages nutrients and taste. You may be aware that steaming vegetables is much healthier than boiling them. It preserves more of the nutrients and vitamins by cooking them at lower temperatures for a shorter period of time. In much the same way, cold pressed dog food is also produced at lower temperatures than the traditional methods of making dry dog food (called extrusion) and therefore preserves more of the nutrients. When meat, fish and other proteins are heated to high temperatures it changes the structure of the protein, making it less nutritious for your dog and also harder for them to digest. Tribal Fresh Pressed™ uses fresh meat, rather than meat meal, which is cooked at a lower temperatures to ensure that all of the goodness is locked in.

Tribal Fresh Pressed™ recipes do not contain meat meal or meat concentrates and that's important, here's why...

Meat meal is a general term for a concentrated meat powder used specifically for pet food. It is present in most dry dog foods, including "super-premium" and "high-meat content" foods. It is often listed as "meat meal/dried meat/dehydrated meat/meat concentrate". Meat meal comes in varying degrees of quality however as they are specific pet food ingredients (not for human consumption), animal health regulation stipulates that they must be cooked at extremely high temperatures during their production. The high temperatures used to produce the meat meal reduces the nutrition within the meat and reduces the digestibility of the proteins.

All Poultry is free run and sourced from France. Tribal's Turkeys' have an abundance of natural light which encourages them to express their natural behaviour indoors as well as outdoors, and an environment enriched with straw bales and toys to peck at and play with.

Tribal's fresh salmon is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids and can help support a healthy skin and coat. It is also an excellent form of protein, hypoallergenic and highly palatable for dogs. The fresh salmon is sustainably sourced from the northeast Atlantic.

The Blue Whiting fish is enzymatically hydrolysed and is a human grade quality form of protein. Blue Whiting is a type of white fish (similar to cod). Tribal's supply is MSC sustainably certified and sourced from Ireland where they use the whole fish, rather than the by-products which are typically used in pet foods. Hydrolysed proteins are where the protein is broken down into smaller pieces (amino acids, the building blocks of protein) by food grade digestive enzymes giving it bioactive and antioxidant properties. This ingredient can have a positive impact on the stomach, aiding gastrointestinal issues and dogs with allergies. It's important to know that Tribal DO NOT use chemical hydrolysis, which is an artificial method of producing hydrolysed proteins using chemicals and high temperatures.

Free-Run eggs sourced from France are a great source of very digestible protein, riboflavin, selenium and fatty acids. They are highly palatable and a great addition for dogs that are prone to digestive upset.
